Pike's Peak

Pike's Peak

Saturday I decided to do a solo trip up Pike's Peak while I was here in Colorado Springs. I drove 13 miles up and had to take the shuttle the last 3 miles because of construction of a new summit house. The cog railway is out of service for repairs for this year, maybe next too. The peak is at 14,115 feet elevation and you can get out of breath quickly just walking. Air is a little thin up there. Excellent greasy doughnuts at the summit house restaurant. Nice trip.

Pay the road fee

Even Bigfoot was here

At 16 miles, take the shuttle

This Marmot lives at this altitude near the top and begs for food

Long way down

I made it to the top for all mobers

End of the cog railway line

What a view

Brakes heat up quick on the way down
