| Our Purpose ~ The purposes of this association are to promote the continued camaraderie established by members while serving on active duty with 6th Weather Squadron (Mobile), conduct periodic reunions and maintain communications among members with newsletters and a website.
Association Profile ~ The 6th Weather Squadron (Mobile) Alumni association was a dream of John Lassiter and Tom Rivers along with some other 6th Weather veterans. They dreamed about getting many others to share some memories. John and Tom pooled names, addresses, and energies. Though they were new to the task, they spent two to three years building a membership base by writing to members asking for additional names and addresses. Finally it was time to get their feet wet, to draft by-laws, find affordable lodging, meals and actually schedule the first reunion. It was held on August 2 thru 4, 1985 at the Continental Motel in Oklahoma City. The banquet and dance was held at a VFW facility in Midwest city with no working air conditioner. It was quite an occasion, attended by a great number of alumni from coast to coast, many old friendships were renewed and many new friendships were born. We sincerely thank those who made the impossible dream possible.Today, the association's primary members number about 181 with 79 associate members and 24 honorary members with the center hub of activity in the Oklahoma City area, home to Tinker AFB where 6th Weather Squadron made its home between 1952 and 1985.
